About RPM Fencing

Our Equipment

We have the equipment to install any size fence under almost any terrain conditions. We use John Deere Skid Loaders with hydraulic, nitrogen-charged post-pounder attachments. As with any construction project, foundations are critical. The posts are the foundation of a fence. Our post pounders are not the old “slammer-style” pounders, mounted on a tractor, which hammers the post into the ground by sheer force, often leaving the post at a crooked angle. Or even worse, some “slammers” are unable to pound the post deep enough to make a solid foundation for a fence. Our skid loaders are agile and able to tilt and manipulate fence posts to install them straight and deep. We utilize a 4140 chrome molysteel punch shaft to break through rocks and/or hard ground to facilitate proper post
installation even under difficult conditions. We are also able to auger holes for large post or railroad tie installation.
If necessary, we have the ability to remove brush, logs or debris to clear lines for fence construction. All of our equipment is maintained in good working order to maximize our reliability and minimize down time.

RPM Fences

The square fence posts available through our company are fully pressure treated, and are available in an assortment of sizes and lengths .

Metal T-Posts
Metal T-Posts are available in all sizes that are currently on the market.

Specialty Posts/Gate Posts/Archways
RPM Fencing has access to ornamental wood posts and beams of large diameter for those featured locations on your property. Large gate posts help to frame and define and entrance, while providing heavy-duty support to prevent that “sagging gate” look. Archways can add interest, dignity and beauty to your main drive, especially when paired with a well constructed, matching post and rail fence.

Fence Rails/Poles/Boards
Several types of round rails/poles are available for post and rail fences, or mesh fences with a top rail. There are doweled rails, which are the same diameter end to end and give a smooth, finished effect to the fence. The bark has been removed, and the wood is ready for staining, painting or natural graying.

There are also natural peeled rails, which are not doweled, and vary slightly in diameter from end to end. If you want your fence to blend into a naturalized setting, these rails will work well. They can also create an old-fashioned, western ranch fence look.

In privacy fence construction, we use cedar boards. There are many different sizes and styles available, depending on the type of fence being constructed.

Vinyl Fence
Our vinyl fences are available in many colors and styles : post and rail, picket, privacy, and manor. We use premium quality vinyl fencing, manufactured by a leading vinyl products company. All vinyl fences come with a transferable limited lifetime warranty. Drop us an e-mail, and ask us to send you a brochure showing some beautiful vinyl fence styles that you can choose from.

Quality Construction

Straight Fence Lines
When constructing long sections of fence we use a transit (surveying tool) to ensure a straight fence line. On shorter sections, a string is used to line out the fence. Both of these methods give the result of a straight, attractive fence.

Posts
According to the USDA Forest Service Wood Fence Posts pamphlet, “wood posts are exceptionally strong, providing a high strength-to-weight ratio. A force of 300 lbs. applied 48 inches above the ground line will cause steel posts to fail, but it would take at least 400 pounds to cause a failure in a (comparable) 2-1/2 inch post. Wood posts that have been properly treated with a preservative are extremely durable … The average life of a preservative-treated lodgepole pine post (with a depth of preservative penetration of 1-1/4 inch, and a retention of 0.055 lb. of preservative per ft.) is 35+ years.

Round Wood Fence Posts
RPM Fencing offers three types of round posts in fence construction. All types are preservative treated, and are available in an assortment of diameters and lengths. We do not recommend using untreated posts, since the life of the post is significantly shortened to just a few years.

Our base-treated posts are lodgepole pine, originating from Montana and Idaho. These are our most popular posts. They are treated at the base for long life, and the portion of the post that remains above ground is natural wood ready for staining, painting or natural graying/weathering.

The second type of posts we use are fully treated local lodgepole pine posts. They are a muted green color due to the treat, and do not need to be painted or stained. They are of a high quality, and have a uniform and appealing appearance.

The third type of posts we use are fully treated Canadian posts. These posts are also a muted green color due to the treat, and do not need to be painted or stained. They are a viable alternative to the local posts, and cost less to use. However, they are mixed types of wood, some of which do not last as long as others. These posts would perform best under dry conditions, such as in non-irrigated, arid soils.
